Parts of a Refrigerator
You won’t find too many homes that don’t feature a refrigerator inside the kitchen. It’s been a standard household appliance for several years now. A household refrigerator will store your food at the best temperature, to reduce spoiling and stop the growth of harmful bacteria. The cycle of refrigeration starts by distributing the heat from the interior of the unit to the exterior, by relying on principles of condensation and evaporation.
The standard components of your refrigerator are below. For questions or service call Ware Appliance Repair:
Compressor
A refrigerator compressor is both a pump and motor, and it is responsible for the circulation of refrigerant in the system.
The compressor is an integral part of a refrigerator. Homeowners should enlist a professional service if the compressor stops working.
Condenser
A refrigerator condenser is attached on the back exterior wall of the refrigerator and will help to disperse the warmth built-up within the refrigerator out to the air.
Evaporator
The refrigerator evaporator is installed on the interior of the refrigerator where absorbs the heat contained within it, effectively lowering the temperature inside the unit.
Once the evaporator isn’t working, it’s time to hire a professional. Do not wait until it is too late.
Expansion Device
Liquid coolant is transferred within a capillary tube which serves as an expansion tool as it cools the gas, transforming it back into liquid.
Thermostat
The refrigerator thermostat helps regulate the temperature in the interior of a refrigerator, engaging a new cooling period when it is appropriate.
The thermostat in a refrigerator is very prone to breaking. Troubleshoot and call a technician in CITY for service right after an issue occurs.
How Does Refrigeration Work?
1. Once the temperature in the interior of a refrigerator goes above the set point sensors signal the compressor to start, and then the cooling period begins. The unit attracts the cold liquid refrigerant, condenses and pressurizes the liquid, and raises the temperature, so it can turn into a gas.
2. The refrigerator compressor pushes the heated gas towards the condenser coils on the exterior of the appliance, at which point it comes in contact with warmer air temperature in the kitchen and returns to a liquified state.
3. The cool refrigerant then continues its journey to the evaporator, pushing through the many coils within the refrigerator and top freezer compartment.
4. The liquid absorbs the hot air from within the refrigerator, cooling the temperature until it has reached the correct final point.
5. The coolant evaporates, and will return back into a gas state, and returns to the compressor unit to continue the cycle.
Refrigeration is often used in a number of applications and large appliances, including heat pumps, air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers. By removing warmth from one place and relocating it to a different one the continuous cycle of refrigeration will help cooling a home, creates a perfect environment for food that is perishable, and helps with the manufacturing and storage of many different products and goods.
